Dec. A Book & A Recipe

Looking for a holiday treat that's unique? We've got you covered with our December Dinner and a Book idea!

This month, we're making Pecan Puffs from Barbara Ross' Maine Clambake series mystery Nogged Off.

Pecan Puffs

Ingredients

2 cups pecans

½ pound butter, soft

4 tbsp granulated white sugar

2 cups flour

2 tsp vanilla

2 cups confectioners’ sugar

Instructions

1 Put pecans in a food processor to break into small pieces.

2 Add the rest of the ingredients, minus confectioners’ sugar, and mix until blended.

3. Put the dough in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and place in the fridge to chill for 1-2 hours.

4. The dough should be stiff. Roll into small balls (small than a walnut) and place on parchment paper and cookie sheet.

5. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-40 minutes. Bottoms should turn light brown.

6. Take puffs off of the cookie sheets as soon as you can touch them and roll in confectioners’ sugar until covered.

7. Place on a cloth-covered surface to cool and enjoy.
