3 Stars - I think by now we're all expecting the next one to be called 31 & Done. Which will be both sad and a relief for long time readers. While we all love Stephanie Plum and her zany crew and criminals, we'd have to be crazy to say this was a series getting better with age. I found a renewed love for it in the audiobooks circa books 26-28 but 29 was ho-hum. I considered skipping 30 till I heard there was a real cliffhanger again. I sat and read it myself quickly, as always easy to do and filled with laugh out loud moments. But the plot was really weak. It felt like a hodgepodge of previously abandoned storylines. Why did they have to road trip to Maine and so many FTAs? Why so much Bob and Lula? I will say that I think the advancement of the relationship triangle here was really weak too. This book will only disappoint both Morelli and Ranger fans. Let's hope they saved some real fireworks for the next one!
