3 Stars - A very exciting and twisty story with Coben's trademark absurdity and dark wit included. Unfortunately it's staying on par with his more ridiculous recent novels that I just can't love overall. If you've never read his work before, you'll likely be enthralled, maybe even stunned. But there are much better versions of this craziness in his work history. It's hard to say much without spoilers on this one. The main trouble for me was that I dislike prison plotlines and that took up all of Part One. By the time we have our The Fugitive style moments, I didn't like any characters except David. The women in his life suck. His family and pseudo family aren't super supportive. The FBI agents were unbearable. He really can't trust anyone. Then, several side characters and storylines didn't even need to be included. Like how old were any of these people even supposed to be? But I will say this kept the pages turning and had me invested right up until the last few chapters. Lovers of his tv series probably won't be disappointed.
