About the event

Forecasters from the National Weather Service in Pittsburgh conduct storm spotter training sessions each year to help prepare spotters for the upcoming severe weather season. The NWS conducts this training in partnership with local members of the Brooke County Emergency Management Agency!

The training sessions are typically 1.5 -2 hours long and cover fundamental information that every spotter needs to know, with a focus on safety, identification of key weather features, and proper reporting procedures. Some giveaways happen depending on the session while supplies last and as indicated by the NWS team present.

Registration does not happen through the library but must be done @ Winter and Spring SKYWARN Classes (https://www.weather.gov/pbz/skywarn-schedule)

The library is hosting the event only for the program (not instructing it) and diverts all questions to the NWS and Brooke County EMA Teams.
