Friends of BCPL
The Friends of the Brooke County Public Libraries were once made up of two separate
groups. The Friends of the Brooke County Public Library and the Friends of the
Follansbee Public Library.
They formally merged together on April 25, 2019, when Nina
Meca, the only remaining Follansbee Member, agreed to join the two groups. The
original Brooke Group Adopted its bylaws on April 7, 1988. The Follansbee Group Adopted its bylaws a few years later, around the time of the branch opening in 1996.
Quarterly Board Meetings are held on the third Tuesday at 1:30 in January, May, August, and November. They take place in the main location's Vincent Meeting Room and last about an hour depending on the agenda. Dates and times are subject to change. Check the Library Newsletter for specific dates or the Events page.
The annual spring event is typically held on the 4th Thursday of April.
The membership year is April - March.
