Greetings from the BCPL Friends' President!

FRIENDS OF THE BROOKE COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY 2022

Greetings! I hope you are in good health and looking forward to spring and summer.

Our Annual Meeting and Entertainment will be held on Thursday May 26 at 7:00. Yes, this years meeting is at our beautiful library.

At the meeting we will have a short business meeting and election of officers. Positions on the board are open to any member who would like to join our board. We welcome new members. If you are interested, please call the library and give your name and phone number to the person at the front desk.

Our entertainment this year is a visit with Walt Disney, portrayed by James Froemel of Maidsville in a West Virginia Humanities Council History Alive! Program. Please come enjoy the event. Meet with old friends, make a new friend. After our entertainment we will be having some wonderful desserts for all you sweet tooth’s.

ACTIVITIES OF THE FRIENDS THIS YEAR

Despite the pandemic, your support of the Friends of the Library has made it possible for the Friends to support the library by providing funds for

Wowbrary, a weekly email newsletter showcasing new items in the collection

The movie licensing fee at both locations

The 1000 Books Before Kindergarten reading program

The summer reading program, including Stuffed Animal Workshop

In addition, the Friends provided:

Circulation Desk display for National Friends of the Library Week

Monthly exhibits in the display case

Bunny and Santa letters

Please renew your membership, so the Friends can continue to support the library with these activities and others that may arise as our library returns to our new normal. Feel free to bring along a friend or neighbor, lets fill the house.
