The Follansbee Library is closed today, 1/28/26. Due to the heavy snow removal, the City has been delayed and has not been able to dig us out yet. We also have community members parked in our parking lot, who have not moved, which will delay a plow getting through our narrow lot. Please bear with us!

Due to the severity of backroads, we have many staff who are still digging themselves out. For the safety of them and our patrons we are closing. We will have no overdue fines for these two days so please so not stress or put your safety in peril to return anything! We should reopen on Wednesday, January 28th.

Our Director Alex got to check in with Jamie Lima earlier last month during the 2025 WV Library Association Fall Conference! Jamie is the State Director in West Virginia for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) hosted out of Marshall University's June Harless Center. Many don't know the tireless boots on the ground that keep the DPIL program running! The program costs local entities $31 a year per child . This is the first year that the parade is happening on a day that the library is open. Please be aware that on 11/22/25, it may or may not be a bit difficult to get to our facility. The Main Library is open 10-4. The ADBC Museum will be open 9-1 (enter through their back door)
