A NEW ANNUAL TRADITION FROM THE DOLLYWOOD FOUNDATION TO HONOR THE LEGACY OF DOLLY PARTON

On September 25, The Dollywood Foundation is introducing Give Like Dolly Day — a new annual tradition created to honor Dolly’s generous heart and her lifelong commitment to children.

For more than 30 years, Dolly’s dream has helped put books into the hands and hearts of children around the world. And because of the dedication of Local Imagination Library Partners and the communities they serve, that dream continues to grow.

In the weeks since Dolly’s passing, we’ve witnessed an extraordinary outpouring of love, gratitude and support from people around the world.

Give Like Dolly Day is an opportunity to turn that love into action by giving back to children and communities, just as Dolly did throughout her life. We’re inviting people everywhere to support organizations doing meaningful work for children where they live — beginning with their local Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL) program.

While the Brooke County Schools annually support the Brooke County DPIL Program, costs continue to rise, and it is best to make sure that the County funds for the program are sustainable. Anything raised/donated that you indicate goes to Brooke County will stay with the funds in the main foundation and will only be used for Brooke County children.

As of 9/16/26, we have 455 Active Children Receiving Books.

That means 455 books being mailed out EACH month to EACH child!

Since we started the DPIL program back up in Brooke, we have had over 1,413 children graduate from the program.
