ADBC Museum to Celebrate 80th Anniversary of WWII Ending

The ADBC Museum will commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the end of World War II Saturday, August 16. The scheduled events include the honoring of veterans who fought in the Pacific, military displays of equipment, speakers and tours of the museum. In addition, there will be a video transmission with the Nishiki Secret Museum in Japan where there will be speakers and remembrances.

As always, the museum will reenact the Bataan Death March and stopping at the Wellsburg Presbyterian church to ring the bell in remembrance and as a sign of peace.

The event is free and the public is invited.

The Brooke County Library Foundation holds the largest collection of artifacts relating to the start of World War II in the Pacific, totaling 1.5 million pages, 30,000 photographs and 10,000 3-D objects.

The ADBC Museum is free and open to the public 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday and Saturday’s by appointment.
