The library is pleased and excited to announce that patrons can now pick up a free copy of the American Library Association's Booklist Reader. Our first copy was received in June, and back copies (while supplies last) are available at the library along with the new one that just arrived for September!
The American Library Association and Booklist Publications invited us to apply for a new grant opportunity. This generous grant, from the Mellon Foundation, was restricted to public libraries that serve small populations, rural populations, or diverse populations. That is us, and thereby amazingly, we were one of the libraries awarded this opportunity.
What is Booklist Reader you ask?
Currently, Booklist Reader is a digital monthly publication from the editors of Booklist. It extends Booklist’s world-class coverage to library patrons, featuring diverse readers’ advisory recommendations for readers and listeners of all ages, along with content from their partner, LibraryReads. Booklist Reader is filled with high-interest, themed lists that showcase books patrons can read and check out of their libraries now.
We also know that some of our patrons cannot make it in to one of our circulation desks at one of our locations due to schedules, life, and crazy schedules.
No worries! Visit our Digital Library, scroll below, and find the Image and therefore link that will take you to the current issue!
Come in today or visit our website to see a copy today for this limited time year subscription!
Know that patrons can make suggestions for purchases and not all items are available for circulation at your library.
