Dolly Parton Imagination Library Check-In

Our Director Alex got to check in with Jamie Lima earlier last month during the 2025 WV Library Association Fall Conference! Jamie is the State Director in West Virginia for Dolly Parton's Imagination Library (DPIL) hosted out of Marshall University's June Harless Center. Many don't know the tireless boots on the ground that keep the DPIL program running! The program costs local entities $31 a year per child. Brooke County is estimated to have between 791-830 eligible kids for this program. We actively support well over 400 kids a month. We could not do this alone. Without Jamie's help in understanding what we need to support our County's youth, our Director would not know the figures and data we need to sustain it. With huge thanks to the Brooke County Board of Education, they have supported this program for two years straight, FULLY! With the promise of approaching this EACH year! That means for each year they fully support this program, the longevity of a child gaining all of their eligible 60 books (or fewer, depending on how old they are when they are registered) is sustained with a promise to the child! For more info, visit: https://www.brookecountylibs.org/programs, and scroll down to the DPIL section. Brooke County has been fully supported for the FY 25-26 in the amount of $24,800. If your child is a resident of Brooke County and is under the age of 5, please consider signing them up today if you have not already! #GrowingEarlyReaders
