While the Town Slept by William W. Johnstone & J. A. Johnstone.
Tim Colter and his trusted guide, mountain man Jed Reno, are on the trail of a vicious gang of train robbers when they happen upon a bloody and shocking scene. Lying on the ground, barely breathing, a Secret Service agent has been left for dead in the wake of a brutal ambush. His final words: "President Grant . . . assassination . . . Dugan . . . trust nobody." It's a message that chills Colter and Reno to the bone. President Ulysses S. Grant is scheduled to arrive soon in Cheyenne. Dugan is a former Confederate guerilla who leads a notorious gang of cutthroats. And the agent's last words--"trust nobody"--suggest this conspiracy could reach to the highest levels of American power. Colter and Reno are determined to stop the assassins by any means possible--even if they have to enter hell itself, better known as Dugan's Den. But to get there, they'll have to bust a lady outlaw out of prison then convince her to take them to Dugan's hideout--with a lunatic killer on their tail and the president on a collision course with death . . .
Bounty Man and Doe by Dusty Richards.
"Retired Deputy Marshal Sam Brennan is chasing devils. First, the three drunken miners who butchered his wife and stepdaughters. Second, the demon in the bottle that helps numb the pain. Doe is an Apache. All but enslaved by the gang of scalp hunters who killed her parents, she has become a stranger in a strange land, an outcast from her tribe. After being sold for the second time to a white man, she is beaten and abused on a daily basis. When Sam stumbles into her owner's camp and witnesses a particularly savage beating, he orders the man to stop. The brute draws a gun in response and fires off a shot. It's a fateful decision-and a mistake he will never have the chance to make again. So begins a partnership that neither Sam nor Doe ever expected, but that will, in the end, define them. Soon, the Utes of the southern Rockies speak of the Many Guns Woman who rides with the Hunter of Men. While in barrooms and saloons from Tombstone to Deadwood, men talk of Sam Brennan and his gun-toting squaw. From the Colorado gold camps to the mountains of Arizona their pursuit leaves a trail of gun smoke and legend across the west."--- Amazon.

Here to There by Ward Silver.
"Amateur radio communication depends upon the movement of radio waves, and hams spend a lot of time designing a station that will send those waves in a desired direction. As soon as your transmission leaves your antenna, however, it is subject to the often-misunderstood effects of propagation. Here to There: Radio Wave Propagation presents the principles of signal propagation in an easy-to-understand style. It provides practical advice on understanding what's going on in the ionosphere and troposphere, how takeoff angle impacts your transmission, how far you can really communicate over VHF and UHF, and much more. Knowing ionospheric structures, how they form, and which bands they interact with will prepare you for practical operating and help you make the most of your time on the air."--Amazon.com.
