Dear Parent or Guardian,

This spring, we are thrilled to announce our participation in Neighborhood Forest's 17th Annual Free Tree Program as part of our Earth Week celebrations this April!

Neighborhood Forest is a nonprofit organization that has helped more than 310,000 children across North America plant their very own trees since 2010 — inspiring environmental stewardship through the joy of planting and growing trees.

How to Participate:

There are three ways to get involved this spring:

  1. Register your child to receive a free tree to plant at home

  2. Purchase trees to plant this spring if you don’t have a child participating (Buy One, Fund One!)

  3. Donate to fund trees in our community — $5 helps place a tree in the hands of a child

  • Registration is open now through March 15

  • Trees (6–12 inches tall) will arrive around Earth Day (April 22)

  • The tree species will be announced in early April. Neighborhood Forest aims to provide native and/or fruit-bearing, depending on our region.

  • Other products that are purchased by you will be fulfilled by Neighborhood Forest.

Families who register will receive details about tree pick-up or distribution closer to Earth Day directly from the Director. Trees will be made available for pick-up once we have them processed, and will come with an Earth Day Activity kit for the registered child.

Planting & Care Resources

Planting instructions, care tips, and species details will be emailed a few days before tree delivery and will also be available in the Resources section of the Neighborhood Forest website.

Thank you for helping us celebrate Earth Week and grow a greener future together! 💚

Warm regards, Alex, Library Director

Please note: The libraries do not benefit financially through this program. Any purchases you make fully benefit the Neighborhood Tree Program and its mission. Our benefit is getting to give your child(ren) a tree to plant along with an Earth Day activities kit! If you purchase extra trees, you WILL receive your extra trees, barring any issue with shipment.

The Director will be able to inform the entity that we require a new shipment if that were to happen.
