How do I get a library card?
To get started, you must be a resident of WV to receive a free card.
18 & Older
You need a valid State/Federal ID or Passport
If your ID is invalid, you will need additional proof of residency items. See a staff member for more info.
Ages 5- 17
Parent or Legal Guardian must be present with applicant
We encourage the parent/guardian to have their own card, but it is not required. Parent will sign off on card usage and accept responsibility
Do you live out of state? No biggie. We are sandwiched between two other states in our County and know that many users come and visit us.
Out-of-state residents must pay $10 annually. The same rules above apply for obtaining the card; you just have to pay the annual fee.
Library Card Rule Reminders
Only the cardholder is permitted to check out items. (Example: a husband may not use his wife’s card. He must have his own)
Replacement cards are $3. If card is lost or stolen, immediately call us. You are responsible for all materials checked out & all fines accrued on your card.
All fines must be paid to keep card in good standing. Cards with outstanding fees over $10, are not permitted computer usage, checkouts, etc.
Minors 17 & under may not check out DVDs and items from the Library of Things.
