3 Stars - I was really hooked in the beginning but this was just too long to really keep me enthralled to the end. The blurb told most of the plot really. Morgan is a hard-working mid-20s woman trying to get settled, very relatable. But the book puts a little too much emphasis on her everyday life. Also some other writing style issues I don't remember having with Roberts before popped up like struggling with who was saying dialouge and repeating things. Her relationship with Miles felt like it was missing something, a clear bond or heck, a real reason to dive in again after getting burned so bad. Miles was cool and I didn't mind his tough guy personality, but his character details felt slightly phoned in. This definitely had a dark side for a romantic suspense story though with a truly chilling bad guy. Overall, small town suspense with a steamy side but be prepared to skim if you're sticking with it.
