3 Stars - A lot easier to read than many of today's twisty mysteries. Probably because it read a lot like a romance novel. The writing was quick and easy, pages went flying. I couldn't exactly call it a thriller. Both the leads Calvin and Grace get POVs and aren't really sure about each other. And then as a reader in a modern mystery of course you're not sure about them. Grace and Calvin were both likable enough for being purposefully sketchy. I found the suspicious side characters to be more interesting at times. Overall the plot probably should've had about fifty less pages and skipped some of the crazy stuff that popped up later on (looking at you mountain lion). If like wild whodunits and end of book surprises, it's certainly worth a try.
