3 Stars - Another quirky comedy, the long awaited sequel to The Recovery Agent. I love the concept of this series, and I like Gabriela and Rafe. I just wish the execution was sharp. There's plenty of banter, weird gags, world travel, romantic tension, and strange side characters. It's not that there's a dull moment. However, I wish the way the plot was tied together was a bit tighter. I felt like I was barely following all the characters, clues, and plane hopping. What works in Stephanie Plum is that she's just chasing someone. Gabs & Co. are supposed to be just chasing something. But there's just a few too many steps. Would like to see longer scenes with a bit more detail, more romance, more character depth, or just maybe one hundred less pages. Have to say too, I'm not in the market for another 30 book love triangle so maybe cool it with the weird exes gambit. Either way, this is another fun romp with a bit of chaos.
