3 Stars - This was more police procedural and whodunit than it was romance or suspense. If light fictional crime dramas are your thing, dive right in here. Hannon sets up a solid mystery as usual and there's her easy to read writing style and a touch of humor. The Christian fiction description on hers are more like a clean romance but you usually get some church-going characters. Lindsey and Jack were likable but maybe a little thin on personality. Jack was like every fictional detective ever, overworked and full of coffee, suspicious but empathetic. Lindsey's past trauma seemed to be the bulk of her description. She likes hot chocolate, cooking, and is looking for her tribe and her place in the world still. These two have a few sparks, even for a subtle romance, but again the emphasis here is on the mystery. Can't say much without spoilers but they throw plenty of suspects and little incidents to keep the pace moving pretty fast.
